Virtual DesktopAbstractExtend the useful area of your computer screen by taking your existing desktop, and adding 7 more virtual ones to it. You can still only use one at a time, but this allows you to group different applications together for different tasks. This then allows you to have a console for web browsing, one for email, and one for documents. You can then switch between them similar to <Alt>-<Tab>. Based on how you work, this can help make things more productive for you. Detailed DescriptionVirtual Consoles is a windows application which can allow you to be better organize your open applications. If you are like me, having 20 windows open at a time is almost a minimum. This application can help you group those for different tasks that you are performing, so that when performing a task you are only seeing the windows that are relevant. When you start the application, it works by creating 8 different virtual consoles for you. This allows you to then take your open applications, and move them between the different consoles. When you move from one console to the other, you will only see the applications within that console. So if for example you have a console for web browsing, you will only see the web browsers when in that console. It ships as a standalone exe, which you can download and just run without installation. When you launch it, it will put all your open applications in the first console. To move between consoles, hold the <Caps Lock> key, and use the arrow keys. When you do this you will see a window popup in the upper left telling you which console you are currently in. You can also changes consoles by holding the <Caps Lock> key and left mouse clicking on the appropriate window. To move applications between windows, right click in a virtual console while holding the <Caps Lock> key, and the active application will be moved to that console. Have fun!
